Cultural Diversity

This four-hour training is designed to improve the skills of direct care staff working with children from different cultural backgrounds. The training covers the importance of understanding cultural diversity, how to work with others from different cultures, and the expectations direct care staff may have with the youth being placed in their home.

• Build skills in reducing the lack of understanding of the child’s behavior

• Have the knowledge and understanding of the culture of the children placed in their home and how to align their skills and knowledge with the needs of the child

• Develop strategies to help handle the obstacles they will face
